Even before Martin Luther posted his 95 theses to the church door in Wittenberg, he designed this symbol (now called the Luther Rose or Lutheran Rose). This hand painted heraldic shield is 11 inches tall and 7.5 inches wide and looks great in any library or office.

The black cross on a red heart is symbolic of the crucified Christ who saves us.

The white rose symbolizes joy and comfort.

The golden ring symbolizes the eternity of heaven.

The Latin phrase "Vivit" means "He Lives" in reference to Christ.
